San Francisco Reporter Pushed During Live Shot

KRON Reporter Amanda Hari was going live when a man walked up behind her and pushed her in the back.

Hari handled it well and continued with her report. Some are calling it an “attack” although I would not go that far.

But, here is the problem.

This Reporter was doing the live shot by herself. No Photog, no security. The guy appears to be an elderly transient. But, due to the fact that Hari was alone, there was no one to warn her or stop the guy’s actions.

Imagine if this guy had a knife?

“So far News Director Aaron Pero’s response has been no more live shots at that intersection,” said one station insider.

It should be pointed out that the intersection that Hari was reporting from was outside the SF police station.

What Nexstar, News Director Pero, and others need to understand is the problem is sending out MMJs - women especially out alone with expensive equipment, knowingly making them an easy target for anyone.

Hari was doing a live shot on a stolen dog. The dog was not in the live shot, it was just a live to go live.

Is this worth getting a Reporter possibly killed?
