For a couple of years, back in 2000, Walt DeHaven was the General Manager of the CBS train-wreck that is WBBM in Chicago.

The station has been at the bottom of the Chicago ratings race for years. DeHaven found that life under the microscope in Chicago was not a fun ride.

After just two years, DeHaven was moved to KCNC in Denver, where the stress level was cut by more than half and a city that moved much slower than the fast pace of Chicago.

There, DeHaven lasted over 18 years in the GM chair and he just announced that he is going to retire from the station.

The staff at KCNC was told this week that DeHaven is leaving.

No announcement yet as to a replacement.
