That's an Interesting Hire

A source at Meredith’s WGCL (Atlanta) says that the station has hired Josh Morgan the VP & General Manager of WREX in Rockford, Illinois to be the station’s new web manager.

Huh?

Morgan has been the GM at the Quincy station for just 7 months and it looks like he is leaving. He was the Station Manager and News Director at WREX before getting bumped up to GM.

Still, it seems odd that a GM at a station is leaving to be the web guy at the struggling Atlanta station.

Now, Morgan might be trying to get out of the Quincy Media station before the sale to Gray Television goes through. But, WGCL is also in the process of being sold to Gray as part of the Meredith/Gray deal.
