Leaving After 4 Decades

Gray Television’s WTAP (Parkersburg, WV) says Sports Director Jim Wharton is hanging it up after more than four decades.

Wharton has been with WTAP for 45 years, but he has been a part of the Mid-Ohio Valley much longer.

The station says that he will be retiring at the end of June, but his last sportscast on WTAP News tonight.

Not sure what he’s going to do the last weeks he has left at the station?

Maybe they’ll have him clean the carpet in the newsroom.
