In a Patron Only story, FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that KWWL *Waterloo) Anchor Danni Miskell was arrested on domestic assault charges.

Miskell has entered a plea of “not guilty” and her attorney claims she acted in self-defense or defense of property.

Miskell’s defense attorney, Heather Jackson, filed a written not guilty plea to the charges. The attorney also provided notice that Miskell plans to use a justification defense, that she acted in self-defense or defense of property.

Miskell submitted photographs of injuries she received at the hands of her boyfriend, according to the defense attorney.

Miskell was charged with assaulting her boyfriend.

Meanwhile, the boyfriend has asked the court to modify the restraining order in the criminal case, saying he isn’t in fear of further assault.

But Miskell initiated her own court action May 18 seeking a restraining order under a civil petition for relief from domestic abuse. She alleged the boyfriend had put her in a choke hold, body slammed her and told her “I could kill you” during the May 13 incident, according to court records. She also claimed the boyfriend has been trying to contact her through relatives, records state.

A trial date on the matter hasn’t been set.
