Cops clamped the cuff on KTSM (El Paso) Anchor Tatiana Favela, charging her with DUI.

Favela anchors the weekend newscasts at the Nexstar station.

Police stopped the newswoman shortly after 1 a.m. Friday, Favela was driving a red 2014 Chevrolet Cruze when a police patrol behind her saw her brake abruptly, making her tires screech and stopping beyond the crosswalk according to a criminal complaint affidavit filed by a DWI Task Force officer.

Police noted that Favela smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and glassy, bloodshot eyes.

According to the affidavit, Favela first told police that she hadn't had any alcohol to drink and then later said she had been at the bar for about 30 minutes and had one drink, a White Claw alcoholic seltzer.

The affidavit stated she declined to do a field sobriety test. "It's against me," she told the DWI officer, who asked her to clarify. "It's against my privilege."

She was privilege enough to get a free ride to the El Paso County Jail.

She bonded out later and has a court date with the judge.

Her bio remains on the station’s website.
