Reporter's Car is Torched

WEVV (Evansville) Reporter Ella Shemwell’s neighbors banged on her door, telling her to get out of the house.

In her driveway, her car was engulfed in flames, after witnesses say a couple of teenagers threw fireworks into the car.

“I heard the loudest... the loudest bang on my door and she said, ‘Get out! There's a fire! Helps on the way, helps on the way.’ I saw the flames coming out of the windows. I mean, it was engulfed in flames,” Shemwell said.

She posted about the incident on her social media.

Owensboro Police said two juveniles were taken into custody shortly after the incident. They are both facing charges of 3rd degree Arson.
