Fox News Buys Ad on NY Times Website

Oliver Darcy is known as Brian Stelter’s minion at CNN and he is also known for what many believe is his unhealthy obsession of Fox News.

Darcy continues to drone on about Fox News and writes more about Fox than he does his own network. Apparently, like most viewers, he watches Fox News more than CNN as well.

Yesterday, Darcy got his panties in a knot because the NY Times website featured an ad from Fox News.

This caused Darcy to call both Fox News and the NY Times to inquire about the ad? Darcy writes:

“Which is to say that taking Fox's advertising dollars — and lending one's platform to the company so that it can present a sanitized version of what it does to readers — is tantamount to accepting money from a company that earned the cash by peddling lies to millions. Is that something a legitimate news org should be doing? I asked an NYT spox who only said that the paper accepts ads 'that adhere to our advertising acceptability standards...'"

This is not the first time that Fox News has bought ad time at the Times. Back in 2017, the network bought a full-page ad in the Times and Steve Doocy even held the ad up on Fox’s morning show.

Darcy joined CNN back in 2017 and I’m not sure that Fox News isn’t buying spots in the Times just to piss him off.

Just saying….
