News Crew Pepper-Sprayed During Attempted Robbery

KPIX (San Francisco) says that for the second time in two months, a KPIX 5 Journalist was the victim of a crime while on the job.

The CBS O&O says that a station Reporter and a security guard, hired by the station were pepper-sprayed during an attempted robbery of the Reporter’s video camera.

The crew was working on a story yesterday at Stow Lake in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

After the robbers stole the camera, the security guard chased them. While fleeing one of the punks was hit by their own getaway car and dropped the camera, which was recovered.

The suspects did get away, the station did not name the Reporter in their story.
