Staffers at CBS got an email from CEO George Cheeks informing that the company has parted ways with CBS O&O President Peter Dunn and CBS VP of News David Friend.

Cheeks sent out the email saying he wanted those inside the company to hear it from him, before It goes public.

FTVLive obtained the internal email:

Team – I have an update about your Stations leadership that I wanted you to hear from me before it becomes public. We have determined that CBS Stations President Peter Dunn and SVP of News David Friend are not returning to their positions and will be leaving the Company.

Until we have new leadership in place, Bryon Rubin will continue to run the Stations group while Kim Godwin will continue her oversight of Stations’ news operations. I will be sure to update you with information about permanent leadership for the group as soon as it is finalized.

At the same time, I want to be very clear that the external investigation under the direction of Keisha-Ann Gray at Proskauer Rose is not over and will continue. We appreciate those who have already provided information to the investigators. If you would like to share something you believe is relevant, please contact Ms. Gray directly via her assistant, Gayathri Menon(GMenon@proskauer.com). We want all voices to be heard.

This entire process, while sometimes painful and emotional, is an important step forward in living up to our promise of a safe, inclusive, respectful and equitable workplace for all of us.

I want to thank you and all of your dedicated and talented colleagues across CBS Stations who have continued doing outstanding work these past two months under challenging circumstances. I am truly grateful for all your efforts and your remarkable professionalism.

 George
