ADL Calls For Advertisers to Boycott Tucker Carlson

FTVLive is on the record as not being a fan of people or groups demanding advertisers to boycott a certain show or network.

If you don’t like the show or network, don’t watch it. If a brand you use, advertises on that show or network and you have a problem with it, stop buying the brand.

It seems simple.

But, there are still groups that want to place pressure on advertisers and tell them where they can and cannot spend their money.

The latest to do so is the Anti-Defamation League.

Yesterday, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt asked advertisers to pull their ads from Fox News and its prime-time show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” in a speech to the World Federation of Advertisers.

“Choose to pause or even pull your ads not just from problematic programs but altogether from networks that don’t respect all people or that repeat baseless conspiracies that endanger all of us,” Greenblatt said.

Now, it’s not that I don’t agree with the ADL and their thoughts about Tucker Carlson. I agree 100% and I think that Carlson is an idiot.

I don’t know why Fox News management continues to let him spout his bullshit on their channel. But, Fox News is a business, and who they put on their channel is their decision. If they think this idiot works for them, then so be it.

I personally don’t watch Carlson and don’t plan on doing so.

But, I’m not going to call on a company to boycott his show. If a company decides that they don’t like the hate messages being spewed by Carlson and they want to pull their ads, good for them.

But, I’m not here to demand that they do it. That choice is up to them.

That is my stance on boycotts.

Again.
