When Will It Stop?

On her LinkedIn page, Nicole Lopez-Alvar says she is a “Journalist and Social Producer at WPLG (Miami)”

WPLG calls Lopez-Alvar a “Journalist” as well on its website.

But on her Instagram, Lopez-Alvar claims she is also a Verizon Ambassador.

She’s also posing in a Bud Light swimsuit and running a contest for the beer maker.

And she is also pimping CBD candy.

How can both she and the station call her a Journalist when she is clearly a product pitcher?

Can everyone at WPLG pitch products while also deliver unbiased news? What happens when say Verizon is the focus of a news story, will their “Ambassador” be sent to cover it?

The fact that this is allowed is head-shaking, to say the least.
