Gray Television has bought the site of a former General Motors plant just outside of Atlanta and has big plans.

The company says that they are going to turn the site into 10 state-of-the-art television and movie production studios as well as an e-gaming facility. But that’s not all.

Gray is purchasing Assembly Yards with an eye on building a Studio City. The site will also include apartments, townhomes, a hotel, corporate offices, restaurants and retail space.

The site is located just outside of Atlanta in the city of Doraville, GA.

Gray CEO Hilton Howell and Developer Jay Gipson, of the Gipson Company, began discussions on the project last August. They both credit City of Doraville, Georgia officials for their visionary approach to the project and helping get it moved along very quickly.

"The City of Doraville is thrilled to partner with Gray Television on this historic development," said Joseph Geierman, the city's mayor. "We have been working with Gray for months to reimagine the old General Motors plant. Together, we have developed a plan which will attract thousands of new jobs and millions of dollars of new investments. Our plan represents a huge leap into the future of our city."
