Giving The Dead Horse One More Whack
/CNN has seen its ratings drop this year without Donald Trump in office. The Jeff Zucker run cable channel has lost 45% of its viewers without Trump in office.
CNN obsessed on Trump and now that he’s gone, the channel is losing viewers.
CNN’s ironically named "Reliable Sources" is also in a ratings free-fall.
The show is billed as a program that focuses on the media, but in reality, it obsessed on Trump and without him in office, the Brian Stelter hosted show is losing viewers.
This past Sunday, one week after having his lowest-rated show of the year, Stelter decided to return to the dead horse and give it a few more whacks.
Despite Trump being out of office for months, Reliable Sources once again went back to its Trump obsession.
Fox News writes that Stelter’s show reverted to Trump-bashing during Sunday’s edition, inviting the former president’s niece to help out. Mary Trump’s book attacking her uncle, "Too Much and Never Enough," was released all the way back in July and Trump has been out of office for over two months. Nonetheless, CNN enlisted Mary Trump to reiterate her attacks on the former president.
Political satirist Tim Young mocked Stelter for his dependence on Trump for ratings.
"Trump is the boogeyman that the left desperately needed for ratings and fundraising, and Stelter now admits it with his show's booking. He goes from his lowest ratings to immediately booking Mary Trump to slander the former President in the hopes that his Trump Derangement Syndrome-infected audience will come back to get their fix of unproven conspiracies about the man," Young told Fox News.
"Stelter and his team have no creativity and no ability to capture an audience with original programming," Young added.
