Yesterday in a Patron Only story, FTVLive FIRST broke the news that KCPQ (Seattle) News Director Erik Breon is on administrative leave from the station.

The staff was told on a conference call from KCPQ General Manager Pam Pearson that “Erik is out.”

Sources tell FTVLive that an investigation into the actions of Breon at the station has been launched and many insiders don’t think he is coming back.

Assistant News Director Sean Kennedy is now heading up the newsroom. "Sean will be your go-to for all things news-related," Pearson said on the call to the staff.

Pearson also told those on the call that she is not going to put out an email on the fact that Breon is being investigated. Word is that Fox fears the email will end up on FTVLive.

“I’m not going to put out an email on that, so that needs to be shared with your team,” Pearson said on the call, adding, “you can let your own individual teams know that Erik is out.”

With Breon gone and likely not coming back, that opens up another News Director job in Seattle.

FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that KING/KONG (Seattle) News Director Peter Saiers was headed to KTLA. KOMO (Seattle) News Director Bill Dallman left for a GM job with Tegna. And now, it appears that Breon is getting bounced at KCPQ.

It’s not often that you see 3 News Director openings in the same market.
