Isn't Everything That These Days?

You might be surprised to learn that there was a day when “breaking news” really was breaking news.

But, TV consultants came along and ruined that. Consultants told their stations that if the label something as “live” and or “breaking news” viewers would stand up and take notice.

So, stations did just that and now “breaking news” means basically nothing anymore.

How bad has it gotten?

Fox News sent out this “breaking news” push alert about breaking news.

It’s gotten to the point where they don’t even seem to be trying anymore.
