This former TV newsie was reacting to our story about how we broke into the business.
Hi Scott,
I read your story about getting started in the news biz… the loan, the stringer work in the next county over. I had never heard that story, nor had I ever known that you really did work your way up the hard way.
I left tv news in 2002 after 20 years. I too worked my way up from holiday-fill-in weather. I sure there are thousands of us who have gained a new respect for you. And your words/stories on FTV.

Thank you for bringing attention to the lack of representation of Asian Americans in US newsrooms. Someone sent me your blog post on Siemny Kim. Both Siemny’s story and the following story on Fox News are so important and I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your coverage.
Say my name…..
Hi Scott ...
Hope and trust that you are safe and well.
I appreciate and enjoy your work, and I'm thankful for the insights you share on our industry. I often find your perspective useful and educational.
Regarding your post about the Seattle anchor and the name change ...
Hasn't it been common practice in the industry for some time for anchors to change their last name, or be asked to do so, if their last name is unusually long, uncommon, or spelled in an unusual way?
Best to you, and keep up the great work.
Asking and demanding is the difference on this one.
