News Nation is on The Air

Yesterday was the day that Nexstar’s WGN America was rebranded as “News Nation.”

If you type wgnamerica.com into your browser, it redirects you to the News Nation website.

Yesterday was also the first day for new shows to debut on the channel.

At 7 PM, Anchor Joe Donlon hosted his first episode of “The Donlon Report.”

We did not see the show, but a TV consultant that we know sent us a quick email saying, “Joe Donlon looks uncomfortable on this first show as he pushes the GOP propaganda on Fox Lite aka News Nation.”

FTVLive FIRST told you that Nexstar is using former Fox News boss, and Trump White House staffer Bill Shine as a consultant to News Nation.

Donlon’s 7PM show employees a number of former Fox News staffers including the EP of the show.

News Nation started off by saying that they were going to be about straight news and leave the bias out of it.

It appears that after gaining no traction in the ratings, the channel has pivoted under the guidance of Shine.

Fox News was at one point the lone conservative voice in cable news, But now with Newsmax, OANN, and now apparently News Nation joining them, the space is much more crowded.
