My Shot....

I wasn’t going to mention this, but I hope by doing so, you will do the same.

Later this morning I am set to get the first dose of the COVID Vaccine. I believe that I’m going to be getting the Pfizer version of the vaccine, but it doesn’t really matter to me.

I am willing to get whatever vaccine they want to give me. I think the first chance you are able to get the vaccine, it is our duty to roll up our sleeve and get the shot.

Way too many people have died and families have suffered. It never should have been this bad and there are still many people that continue to downplay a virus that has infected more than 30 million Americans and killed over 530,000.

The quicker we can all get the vaccine, the quicker we can get to herd immunity and back to a somewhat normal life. I have spent the better part of the last year, keeping my distance from people, not eating out, no traveling or going to events.

I didn’t just do it for me, I did it to try and keep others safe. Sadly, many did not do this and it led to people dying. Here in Florida, the numbers have been far greater than they should have been.

I get the shot this morning, then in a few weeks, I go back for the second shot. Basically, I’m still a good two months from being immune to getting COVID.

I will continue to wear a mask and social distance for at least a few more months. I made it this far, a few more months won’t matter.

I hope when the time comes and you are offered the chance to get the vaccine you will jump right on it. Don’t put it off, just do it.

If everyone does so, we will be able to go back to doing the things that many of us have been waiting to do for over a year.

Let’s do this!
