New ND Named in NY

WNYT (Albany, NY) has hired a new News Director.

Michael Raffaele joins the Hubbard station, coming from WACH-TV, the Fox affiliate in Columbia S.C., where he served as News Director since October 2018.

“It’s an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to work with this experienced and talented news team,” Raffaele said. “This is a winning operation with deep roots in the Capital Region, and for me, this was a clear-cut choice. I look forward to returning to my home state of New York.”

“I am very pleased that Mike Raffaele will be joining us as news director at NewsChannel 13,” WNYT GM Steve Baboulis said, “Mike brings solid news management experience with him to the Capital Region, and I look forward to working with him as he leads our already strong news team to even greater heights. I can’t wait for him to get started!”

Raffaele’s first day on the new job is April 5.
