FTVLive told you that voting services company Smartmatic had sued Fox News and a number of their “stars” for nearly 3 billion dollars.

Yesterday, Fox filed a motion to try and get the lawsuit tossed saying that the suit seeks to “stifle debate and chill vital First Amendment activities.”

In a statement, Fox says, “Fox News has moved to dismiss the Smartmatic lawsuit because it is meritless. If the First Amendment means anything, it means that Fox cannot be held liable for fairly reporting and commenting on competing allegations in a hotly contested and actively litigated election. We are proud of our election coverage which stands in the highest tradition of American journalism.”

Proud of your election coverage?

You had hosts on the air like Lou Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo and others making claims with no evidence and were not true.

If you are proud of that, the bar at Fox News must be really low.

I’m not a lawyer and don’t claim to be one, but my prediction is the motion to dismiss the lawsuit will be denied.

Stay tuned….
