Pushed Out at ABC News

ABC News continues to make cuts and longtime Journalist Clayton Sandell is another victim of those cuts.

Sandell joined ABC News 20 years ago and he took to his website to say that his run is over.

He writes, “Amid a pandemic that none of us ever expected, I was swept up in a wave of cuts across the Walt Disney Company. In this, I am hardly alone. Thousands of dedicated Disney/ABC/ESPN staffers found themselves in the same position as a result of the world being turned upside-down, and my heart aches for all of them.”

And while he lost his job, his attitude seems to be in the right place. “While this news was unexpected, it’s a blessing in disguise that is opening exciting new paths that will allow me to pursue a number of passion projects and long-simmering ideas. More on that soon.,” he writes.

ABC has been making cuts throughout the pandemic.
