Does this seem odd to you?

Nexstar’s News Nation has parted ways with Dean Reynolds, who was the show’s National Political Correspondent for the past 6 months.

Reynolds had spent time at CBS. ABC, CNN and other networks over his career, but he lasted just a fleeting moment at Nexstar.

Reynolds told Robert Feder that he agreed to a six-month contract in August because he intended to work only through the presidential election and inauguration.

“It just ran out. I’m totally fine with that. I have nothing but gratitude for them,” he told Feder, adding: “But I get why the timing looks kind of funny.”

The timing is because Nexstar has come under fire for hiring for Fox News boss and Trump White House staffer Bill Shine to consult for News Nation.

News Nation’s News Director Sandy Pudar resigned from the company and word is that it was due to Shine being involved. Shine is alleged to have enabled Roger Ailes and his sexual misconduct at Fox News.

Reynolds impiled that his leaving had nothing to do with that.

But, you have to wonder as it Is not often that anyone signs a 6 month contract.

Just saying….

BTW- A number of News Nation staffers continue to reach out to FTVLive, voicing their disgust in Shine’s role at the network and the way Nexstar boss Sean Compton is running News Nation.

Stay tuned….
