Back in June of 2019, FTVLive told you that 5 female Anchors from NY1 were suing the station for discrimination.

Both sides eventually settled the lawsuit and all 5 Anchors left the station after the settlement was made.

But now, the law firm that has represented the Anchors is claiming that Charter (NY1’s owner) is not holding up their end of the bargain.

The firm filed a Complaint with the New York City Commission on Human Rights alleging that Charter has continued to unlawfully retaliate against our five clients – Roma Torre, Kristen Shaughnessy, Jeanine Ramirez, Vivian Lee and Amanda Farinacci.

The complaint says that Charter has refused to submit Ms. Torre, Ms. Shaughnessy, Ms. Ramirez, Ms. Lee and Ms. Farinacci for Emmy Award nominations for their work despite having previously agreed to do so.

“We are confident that the New York City Commission on Human Rights will aggressively pursue NY1 for its retaliatory and vindictive conduct in denying our clients the honor of submitting them for the Emmy nominations they so deserve,” said lawyer Douglas Wigdor about the complaint.
