That Looks Familiar...
/We see this happen on almost a daily basis here at FTVLive, so we know exactly how this Reporter feels.
Haley Samsel worked for the Star-Telegram and now works for the Fort Worth Report. She posted a couple of tweets calling out Spectrum Texas for lifting her and her colleague’s material with no credit or attribution.
This is the lowest of the low when people that call themselves journalists, lift the work of others. As we said, FTVLive deals with this issue constantly. Stories we break, we often see stolen by another outlet, that gives no credit or no link back.
Here is Samsel calling out the Spectrum station in the area.
Hopefully, Spectrum will follow up and do the right thing.
But, I won’t hold my breath.
.@SpectrumNews1TX covered @CityOfArlington natural gas issues yesterday, a topic @KaileyBroussard and I have reported on for more than a year.

Imagine my surprise when they ripped off entire paragraphs from our Dec. 1 @startelegram article. Exhibit A: pic.twitter.com/7dM1i38r8D
Exhibit B: First three screenshots are me and KB at @startelegram. Last screenshot is @SpectrumNews1TX.

No links to our coverage, not even to the @reveal investigation it cites. Even if it had links, taking entire paragraphs verbatim and claiming them as your own is never OK. pic.twitter.com/iWw88a1NlA
