KC Met is Retiring, But First, A Demotion

Meteorologist Gary Amble has been giving the forecast on KCTV for the past 3 decades as the station’s Chief Meteorologist.

Now, he has announced that he is going to retire.

But, it won’t be in two week or even two months.

Amble is retiring at the end of the year.

Not 2021 mind you.

He is signing off at the end of 2022.

But, he is losing his job as Chief Met for the Gray station for his final year.

The station announced that meteorologist Erin Little will become Chief Meteorologist at the station.

“KCTV5 is long recognized as a leader in news and weather coverage in KC,’’ said Andrew Stewart, General Manager of KCTV and KSMO. “We are excited that Erin Little will be leading our Storm Track 5 Weather Team and will celebrate the next year working with Gary as he makes the well-deserved transition to retirement.”
