Throwing Down a Challenge
/Winsome Sears, the first woman and first woman of color to be elected Virginia lieutenant governor, went on Fox News, but she threw down a challenge to an MSNBC host.
While appearing on FNC’s The Story With Martha MacCallum, Sears was asked about comments made by MSNBC’s Joy Reid.
“You have to be willing to vocalize that these Republicans are dangerous. That this isn’t a party that’s just another political party that disagrees with us on tax policy,” Reid said on her show. “That at this point, they’re dangerous. They’re dangerous to our national security because stoking at kind of soft white nationalism eventually leads to the hardcore stuff.”
While on Fox News, Sears challenged Reid to bring her on. “I wish Joy Reid would invite me on her show,” she said. “Let’s see if she’s woman enough do that. I’d go in a heartbeat and we have a real discussion without Joy speaking about me behind my back, if you will.”
“She talks about white supremacy. Does she know that I ran against a white supremacist?” continued Sears. “I mean, Joy, come on, get your facts straight and then come talk to me.”
It appears the ball is now in Reid’s court.
