Leaving to Focus on Family

You know often in this business people say they are leaving the station to “spend more time with their family”?

More often that is complete bullshit most of that have spent just a few minutes in the business know it.

Well, every now and then, it really is the case.

WVUE Met Shelby Latino is leaving the station and the job that she loves.

Latino and her husband had two girls and they thought they would try and have one more kid to fill out the family.

But, were they in for a surprise.

The couple ended up having triplets and instead of the family growing by one, it grew by three.

It didn’t take long for Latino to figure out that as much as she loved her job, the focus was her family. “Being home has made me realize how much I enjoyed being with my family,” she said, “but it always made me realize how much I miss being at Fox 8 with the team and forecasting every morning and having a little bit of time to do something that I enjoyed, that I feel like I’m good at.

She announced that she is leaving the station and the job she loved. “That makes it all the more special and all the more difficult to say goodbye or to say, ‘See you later,’” she said.
