Longtime KOVR (Sacramento) Weather Anchor Dave Bender has apparently left the station after 25 years.

The CBS O&O said goodbye with the anchor saying, “We are saying “thank you” to a longtime colleague of ours. Weather Anchor Dave Bender just celebrated his 25th anniversary here at CBS13, and now he’s taking a break to enjoy the holidays before discovering what his next chapter has in store.”

They then threw to a taped look back piece and a pre-recorded goodbye from from Bender.

So, you telling me this guy works at the station for a quarter of a century, and he doesn’t even appear live to say goodbye?

I’m sorry, there is more to this story that the station is not telling us.
