RIP Meredith
/It wasn’t that long ago that FTVLive FIRST told you that Meredith was looking to sell the company.
Many doubted our report and one Meredith executive whined to anyone that would listen that what we were reporting just was not true.
Of course, it was long after that, Meredith announced that they were selling their local TV stations to Gray Television and Meredith was getting out of that business.
Meredith said that while they were selling off the TV stations, they were staying in the publishing game and that was the future of the company.
Well, before the Gray TV deal has been even been finalized, Meredith announced that they are selling off the publishing side of the business as well.
Dotdash is the publishing division of Barry Diller’s IAC holding company is buying up the rest of Meredith in an all-cash deal valued at $2.7 billion dollars.
When the two deals are done, Meredith will basically cease to exist.
RIP Meredith Corporation.
