Another One Gone in Boston
/NBC Boston Morning Anchor Brian Shactman is taking his talents to the radio.
WTIC News Talk radio announced that Shactman will become the co-host of the morning show Mornings with Ray and Brian.” He joins longtime radio host Ray Dunaway and will be on the air from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
“I’m excited to welcome Brian back to Connecticut to join our morning show program alongside Ray Dunaway,” said Stephanie Perl, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Hartford. “He has a proven track record of entertaining and capturing his audience, and his energy will be a great addition to our show.”
“I have been listening to Ray for years, and WTIC is always my first stop when I get in the car,” said Shactman. “To now be a part of the WTIC team is an absolute thrill. Connecticut – the whole state – is a community. WTIC is a huge part of that community, and I am excited to help people start their day in this great state.”
NBC Boston has been losing staff and has been fighting an uphill climb in the ratings, since signing on the air. WHDH was the longtime NBC affiliate for the Boston market but became an independent when NBC Boston signed on the air.
As one NBC Boston insider said, “Shactman is the latest to jump off the sinking ship.”
