After over 3 decades, longtime KPNX sports Anchor Bruce Cooper will do his last show tonight.

Cooper says that after he signs off, he’s going to take it easy for a while, “I’m going to take the next couple of months off for sure, if not the rest of the year. Then I will look to try and find out what that next chapter will be. If you asked me right now I would say working in high school athletics in some capacity, I guess, would fit the bill.”

He spent 34 years giving Phoenix viewers the sports news and he says he will miss that. “There’s no question I’m going to miss it. What I’m going to miss the most is my newsroom family, my 12 News family I’ve been around for years, the friendships that I have with my competition, and peers across the other platforms. I’m going to miss the locker rooms, the athletes, the coaches, and the atmosphere of the fans. … Look, it’s going to be different. It’s going to take some getting used to,”
