Trolling in Rockford

It still amazes me that viewers will say shit like this….

Some viewer thought that sending an email like this to WTVO/WQRF (Rockford, IL) Meteorologist Candice King was ok.

It’s not.

King posted the email and seemed to roll with it as well as can be expected:

For the most part, the email that comes into here at FTVLive is very supportive and positive. But, not all of it.

One guy emails us almost every day and takes us to task for standing up for minorities and women. He hates the fact that we continue to call for more women and minorities in the GM and News Director jobs at stations.

Yesterday he sent this email labeling me an “enabler” of the Black community when it came to the story of the Harlem Globetrotter and his problems with some Alabama anchors.

The email said:

“God, I hope Trump and Pence keep the white house for the next twelve years.  Maybe then, this kind of fake bullshit will end and black people can get over themselves.  You’re an enabler.”

If I’m an “enabler” to the Black community, the Hispanic community, the Asian community, and all others, I will gladly accept that label and continue to try and makes this business more diverse and inclusive, especially when it comes to TV station management.

Oh and like Candice King, I’ll be doing it while I wear my bathrobe.
