Can We Change Out the Mask?

You have an officer-involved shooting and WLWT (Cincinnati) Reporter Dan Griffin is live at the scene wearing what amounts as a clown mask.

Good for Griffin for having a mask on, but it’s a police shooting.

But, can we ditch the rainbows and stars for this story?

Just saying….

Update: Someone emailed FTVLive to say this isn’t a clown mask and it is a Chicago Gay Pride mask.

I don’t care if it’s a batman mask or an American flag mask. It distracts from the story and a Reporter’s face is not a billboard.

If you giving the news, especially something like a shooting, wear a simple unmarked mask and don’t distract the viewer.
