Miami News Director is Bumped Up

While NBC has been sacking employees coast to coast, they did take time out to promote a News Director.

WTVJ (Miami) ND Migdalia Figueroa has been bumped up to the GM job at WTMO, the Telemundo station in Orlando.

“Migdalia is a well-respected leader across our group. Her vast experience and commitment to creating a work culture that prioritizes employees’ professional development while encouraging collaboration and innovation in the workplace make her the perfect person to lead Telemundo 31,” said Telemundo President Manuel Martinez.

This is a return to the Spanish broadcaster for Figueroa. Before landing at WTVJ she was senior vice president of content and branding for the Telemundo Station Group and the VP of news for Telemundo’s WSCV Miami.

No word on a replacement.
