NBC Sacks Another One in LA

KNBC parted ways with solid Reporter Gene Kang as part of their budget cuts.

In an Instagram post, Kang wrote in part:

“This was an emotional roller coaster of a week! 🦁🌕 Sunday, I celebrated my 43rd birthday w/ a full moon. Monday, I covered a wildfire in San Bernardino County. Tuesday, I was laid off from my job.”

NBC continues to cut jobs and when you look at the job cuts at the O&O’s it often seems to be older staff that are making more money.

It used to be the longer you worked at a station, you had more job security. Now, it seems the longer you work, the more you become a liability and one of those first cut.

NBC has made little comments about the cuts and when they will end.
