RIP Hugh Downs

Back when Hugh Downs hosted ABC’s 20/20 it was must watch TV with great stories, told by top-notch Journalists.

Downs would end each broadcast by saying “We’re in touch, so you be in touch.”

Downs appeared on TV more than any other newsperson. In fact, for years he held the Guinness-certified record for most total hours on commercial network television. he was eventually passed by Regis Philbin.

Downs died this week at the age of 99 years at his home in Scottsdale, AZ.

It is just another end of a great Journalism era.
