Sinclair’s Director of Social Media John Colucci went on a Twitter rant and we agree with what he said.

It seems that Colucci has a number of Journalists that have reached out to him asking how they can get a blue checkmark on Twitter?

Seriously? This is what some Journalists are worried about right now?

Who the hell cares about that? Years ago, I got an email from Twitter about being verified and I was told I needed to follow more people on the platform. At the time I was only following 90 people on Twitter.

Today I follow 83.

First off, I care more about people coming to FTVLive.com and could not care less if people follow me on Twitter, Facebook, or any other social media.

More people come to FTVLive in 15 minutes than follow me on Twitter. I can’t tell you the last time I posted to my Facebook and my last post to Instagram was back in May (I had to look to see that).

If you really feel the need to have a blue checkmark next to your name, you might need to look again at your priorities in life.
