It appears that disgraced former Today show host Matt Lauer is trying to find a friendly outlet to conduct an interview with him.

US Weekly says that Lauer is talking about doing a big TV interview, as he tries to rebuild his reputation.

The mag says that Lauer’s friends are “trying to convince him to record the interview himself so he has edit control.”

Word is that Lauer is looking to do the interview soon, because of the empty TV studios due to the coronavirus pandemic. “Given the timing of the pandemic and [the fact there’d be] no studio audience, it could be a less hostile venue,” the US Weekly source says.

Lauer also felt that Hoda Kotb “should have been supportive” in the wake of the allegations — but she “took his job and never looked back.”

If Lauer wants to rebuild his rep, I don’t think attacking Hoda Kotb is a very good plan.
