I'm Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Words
/Earlier this week, FTVLive showed you a video of a KOAT (Albuquerque) Anchor using the term “Colored People” while talking about the protests.
At the time we did not name the Anchor, due to the fact that her face did not appear on the video and we only had her name from a single source.
We now can confirm that the person in question was morning Anchor Sasha Lenninger.
This is the clip again, in case you haven’t seen it:
After a number of viewers expressed outrage, KOAT did issue an apology, but that apology did not come from Lenninger.
KOAT had Anchor Shelly Ribando read the apology.
Checking Lenninger’s Twitter and it seems that she did not mention the incident, nor did she apologize there.
Wouldn’t you think the person that made the derogatory remark, be the one to apologize for the remark? Or is Lenninger not sorry to begin with?
This is the station’s apology read by Ribando. It really would be nice if we heard from Lenninger.
