Black Journalist Group Calls out Buffalo Station

The Buffalo Association of Black Journalists issued a statement demanding immediate action from the Spectrum station in the market to investigate claims of mistreatment of our members and ethical concerns happening in the newsroom.

A Buffalo Police employee was suspended for a racist post on social media.

The civilian employee of the department is Bob Marth and he made a post to Facebook that said that the Mayor of Buffalo should give police the right to shoot and kill protestors.

Marth was suspended from the PD for his remarks and one can only hope will soon be fired.

The Spectrum station in Buffalo mentioned the story on-air, but it could not be found on the station’s website.

Why? That’s the station, but it should be pointed out that Spectrum Buffalo’s Assistant News Director is a guy named Steve Marth.

Yep, Steve is Bob’s son.

The BABJ is asking for this to be investigated along with other issues inside the station.
