40 Years of CNN

40 years ago Today, Ted Turner signed CNN on the air as the country's first national 24 hour cable news channel.

Today, the news is pretty much gone from CNN.

The channel is filled with talking heads screaming at each other and hosts that what to make sure that it is all about them and not the story.

Chris Cuomo turned his primetime show in the Cuomo Comedy Brothers, with NY Gov Andrew Cuomo. Don Lemon hasn’t done anything that resembles Journalism in years. But, he does get drunk of the air every New Year’s Eve and thinks he’s funny.

Sadly, CNN is nothing like it was when it launched. Once Jeff Zucker took over the channel, it has pretty much given up doing real news.

To celebrate 40 years of CNN, Zucker sent out a goodie box that included this card:

Zucker also included this T-shirt saying that “The World Needs Journalists.”

I could not agree more, let’s hope CNN starts hiring some.
