CBS This Morning is celebrating an anniversary of sorts.

It has been one year since CBS debuted the morning team of Gayle King, Anthony Mason, and Tony Dokoupil. On May 16th of last year, Norah O'Donnell signed off the morning newscast to head to the CBS Evening News and on May 20, 2019, CBS launched the new look CBS This Morning.

Mason and Dokoupil were new and King was the lone holdover.

Speaking of King, she has taken to wearing glasses that often match her outfit and it seems a bit distracting.

Al Roker has also been wearing bright colored glasses while hosting the Today Show on NBC.

A long time ago, TV talent was told to not distract from the story that they are telling. But, that no longer seems to be the rule.

Watching Gayle King and Roker is sort of like Elton John giving the news.

King is a top-notched talent, but I find when watching her, I’m always distracted by the glasses.

I think they worked for Elton John, but not for a news anchor.
