Anchor Fired After Repost

KARE (Minneapolis) has parted ways with Weatherman Sven Sundgaard after a Facebook post in which he quoted a Rabbi.

Rabbi Michael Adam Latz posted about the people holding rallies to reopen businesses in the midst of the pandemic and called them, “white nationalist Nazi sympathizer gun fetishist miscreants.”

Sundgaard quoted the post from the Rabbi in a post of his own and for that, the station fired him.

Ironically, KARE announced Sundgaard’s firing on Facebook, “Due to continued violations of KARE 11’s news ethics and other policies, we have made the decision to part ways with Sven Sundgaard," read the post. "We hope you continue to turn to KARE 11 for your news, traffic, weather, and more.”

Sundgaard had been with the station for 14 years and has not yet addressed his firing.
