She's Back and Still Spouting Her Bullshit

Remember Pittsburgh Anchor Wendy Bell?

Maybe you do, maybe you don’t.

Bell was fired from WTAE in Pittsburgh after posting what many felt was a racist rant on her Facebook page.

She sued the station, the two sides settled and many had hoped that was the last they would have heard from her.

After her firing, Bell tried to launch some online ventures that appeared to sputter out and she was pretty much living in obscurity until KDKA Radio decided to hire her.

I’m guessing that KDKA figured Bell’s conservative voice needed to be heard again in the blue-collar Steel City.

This week, Bell once again started trending on Twitter and once again it was for something incredibly stupid that she said.

Talking about the coronavirus, Bell was arguing the point sure people will die, but we need to save the economy.

She said, and I’m not making this up, “Yes, every life lost is one too many,” she continued. “Yes, that’s the talking point. That’s what we’re going to say. But ultimately dollars and cents boil down to, ‘Are you going to bankrupt America and the future for less than 1% of our population?’ Many of whom are already ill or aged. I’m on a fence.”

Seriously? What kind of idiot thinks like this?

Bell has kids, I wonder if she would like to sacrifice one of her kids to keep the local movie theater open?

Should people decide to have their grandma coughing her way to her death, alone in isolation, so McDonald’s can sell another Big Mac?

Wendy Bell should be fired again.

But, that is assuming that KDKA Radio has as much ethics as WTAE-TV and it’s owner Hearst did when they sacked her the first time.

Sadly, I don’t think they do and sadly the people of Pittsburgh will still be stuck hearing her incredibly stupid takes.
