Station Employees Required to Wear Masks at Work

Yesterday (Sunday) FTVLive FIRST told you that a station employee at KOTV (Tulsa) tested positive for COVID-19.

The station shut down while a cleaning crew was brought in. One Saturday newscast was canceled and the others were simulcast from KWTV in Oklahoma City.

After the deep clean, KOTV opened the building Sunday afternoon and according to an internal memo obtained by FTVLive, employees that came within 6 feet of the employee (Sources tell FTVLive that it was an engineer) are now being told that they must wear masks and gloves for the next 7 days at work.

Some other employees at the station are concerned.

“I think anyone that had contact with the infected employee or his work area should be self-quarantined at home for the next two weeks,” said one staffer to FTVLive.
