CBS Farms Out Weekend News

This past weekend the CBS Evening News was done by Anchors from WGCL in Atlanta.

FTVLive told you on Saturday that the CBS Evening News would be fronted by WGCL anchors Rick Folbaum and Shon Gables.

Insiders say that Gables even brought her makeup artist to WGCL, which appeared to go against station policy of no outside people in the station.

The makeup artist posted her work on Gables to social media that included Gables saying that Jesus helped get her on the CBS network.

Last week, CBS did the same thing using anchors from KHOU (Houston) and KCNC (Denver) the week before that.

CBS says that they are using the local anchors because the CBS Broadcast Center in New York is still shut down after employees tested positive for COVID-19 weeks ago.

Weekday CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell is being broadcast out of DC. CBS weekend mornings with Jeff Glor is being done from the Ed Sullivan theatre in New York. So why can’t they use one of those spots for the Weekend edition of CBS Evening News?

It seems strange that in a global pandemic and news ratings at the highest they have been in years, that CBS is farming out their news to affiliates.

At a time that is so important for informing viewers, CBS doesn’t seem to care.

Here is Gables thanking Jesus for getting her on CBS.

I wonder if Jesus charges the same as other TV Agents?

BTW, here is the internal memo from Meredith that says no non-essential employees are allowed in the station.

I would not think that a makeup artist would be considered essential. But hey, that’s just me.
