The former Chief Meteorologist at KPTM was arrested for sending threatening emails to the director of Douglas County Health Department over her handling of the coronavirus outbreak.

Cops say that Ronald Penzkowski, who went by the name Ron Gerard on-air sent emails like this one to Dr. Adi Pour:

“So it seems like you have finally found some value in your worthless life. But the power has gone to your head and your (sic) issuing orders like a dictator. Back off this ridiculous order to shut down the city. Stop the bullshit health reports that would make you think that people will be dropping dead on every street corner. Let things get back to the way they ought to be or there will be a revolt. The economic chaos you're creating isn't justified. There was a lynching outside the Douglas County Courthouse a century and one year ago. You're next bitch.”

Police say Penzkowski sent more emails that said he would slit her throat.

After leaving TV news, Penzkowski worked as the communication director for Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle.

Penzkowski is charged with making terroristic threats and stalking.
