Who Wants Some Stale Cookies?

WREG (Memphis) General Manager Ron Walter decided to play the Easter Bunny for the Nexstar station last week.

Walter sent an internal email to the staff saying that if they replied back to him before the end of the day, they would be entered for the chance to win a spring Easter basket that included, Chocolate Chip Cookies, candy bars and drinks.

Only one person would be selected to win the basket and if you were stuck at home, the basket would be waiting for you on your desk when you return.

First off, I think it will be awhile before anyone returns to the station that is working from home. So, I’m guessing those cookies could be stale by then.

Second, if a news employee wins this basket and it is left on their desk, you can be sure the other news people will pick over it like a vulture on a dead body.

Lastly, your news people are working their ass off, trying to keep viewers informed and not catch the coronavirus themselves.

Maybe you should get them all a basket, and have a delivery driver drop it by their homes as a token of saying thanks.

Oh wait, this is a Nexstar station.

Never mind.
