Let Us Pray

While all the TV stations in Atlanta were broadcasting a town hall on the coronavirus, the TV stations across Oklahoma were broadcasting the Governor’s day of prayer.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, who downplayed the coronavirus pandemic early on, produced an event called “Let Hope Rise: Together In Prayer for Oklahoma” which was broadcast on TV stations throughout the state.

“I know this is an uncertain or anxious time for many Oklahomans right now,” said Gov. Stitt. “That is why I believe it is important we join together as a state and pray for God’s blessing, protection and strength as we face a challenge that is unprecedented in its scope. I want to commend and thank our television and radio broadcasters across the state for coming together to connect Oklahomans to this powerful message.”

All the major TV stations across Oklahoma carried the event with the exception of Cox’s KOKI in Tulsa.

Less than two weeks ago Governor Stitt tweeted a photo of he and his family at a crowded Oklahoma City restaurant while encouraging Oklahomans to enjoy themselves and go out to restaurants for meals.

He quickly deleted when it generated national outrage.
